One Hand Clapping
LEAD DESIGNER / 2018
One Hand Clapping is a 2D puzzle platformer that invites players to sing into their microphone to solve musical puzzles. Discover your voice as you explore the beautiful and musical world of One Hand Clapping.
As Lead Designer I coordinated a small team of designers to create this truly unique experience, ensuring that our innovative mechanics were accessible for people of all skill levels and promoted the intended player experience. I was responsible for rapidly prototyping new mechanics and finding the best possible ways to encourage players to feel the strength of their voice. Made in Unity.

PROJECT CO-LEAD / 2017
E.X.O. is a local cooperative dungeon crawler. A party of 3 to 6 players connect to a single host computer via their mobile devices and must work together to navigate the derelict husk of a gargantuan spaceship, fighting off genetic abominations in fast-paced collaborative combat and plundering the ship for bio-mechanical enhancements, all while using their phones as controllers and secondary screens.
As co-lead of this project, I wore many hats. I learned how to network multiple mobile clients with a PC host running a different program, designed multi-screen mechanics that allowed for high-energy teamwork, and coordinated artists and engineers. Made in Unity.

DEVELOPER / 2017
Fight your way to enlightenment in this arcade action-platformer. Leap from platforms and kick distracting thoughts away from your inner self as you meditate. Buddha Fighter challenges players to find a meditative flow of their own in the midst of chaotic action and irreverent goofiness.
Working with one other designer, I took on the challenge of creating the zen-like play state that players find in classic arcade games. We designed simple, intuitive mechanics to that end, ironically juxtaposing the high-voltage energy of the arcade with the peacefulness of meditation. Made in Unity.
DEVELOPER / 2018
Deep Cerulean is a calm, soothing simulation depicting the nature of ocean life. Eels and manta rays float happily along the current. Sharks bicker amongst each other for hunting territory. Schools of fish fly by, sometimes chased by other sharks. Everything responds to another in this interconnected underwater landscape.
Made in a weekend for Hacktech 2018, I led a small group in the development of this soothing experience. Deep Cerulean was an experiment in systemic game design, and I learned how to create a self-sustaining aquatic world where every character follows behavioral rules that interact with each other, even without player interference. Made in Unity.
DEVELOPER / 2017
Overgrow is a board game about 3-player strategy game about combative gardening and territorial flower growth. Played on a large hexagonal grid, Overgrow combines the nuanced strategy of chess with the unbridled thrill of watering flowers. Players must carefully spend water resources to place flower tiles on the grid, blocking sunlight to adjacent tiles to destroy opponents' flowers and claiming garden territory to achieve victory.
The final project for a game design class at USC, Overgrow was one of my first legitimate efforts at game design. This game forced me to understand the careful balancing act of designing for the strategy genre. Light-hearted as it appears, Overgrow is deep in its possibilities for play style and emergent gameplay.
